Tonight my 8 month dd is quietly whimpering. Went upstairs to check that she was ok and is fast asleep. Is this normal?

Dreaming! Mine do that - whimper, sob, laugh and recently talking!

my dd had a terrible night's sleep a couple of weeks ago - she was mid chicken pox and had a terrible cough and sore throat. She was waking hourly so I ended up in the spare bed in her room with her next to me (she's 18 mos) and in the brief time she did sleep at one point she gave the loudest chuckle, it was so funny. Well ok, mildly funny but I was horribly sleep deprived and it made me laugh so much I woke her up!
