Has your child stayed in their birth percentile?

I had 4 big babies, the smallest was 10lbs 5 oz, the biggest 11lbs 10 ozs.

My eldest was 10lbs 7 oz and a 9 is still very tall but is very skinny, my second was my smallest and she's average height and you can tell she's going to be curvier than her older sister.
The last two are slightly tall for their ages and on the chunky side but you wouldn't look at them and think they'd been big babies.
Does anyone have a big baby that grew into a big child or conversely a small baby who has remained on the small side?

both off the bottom of the chart at birth due to prematurity ( born at 25 weeks ) and both have stayed off the bottom now 4 yrs old. both fit as a flee and dont stop eating so no concerns just going to be tiny for their age, great though as still wearing 2-3 year clothes!!

Nope, DS was born on the 50th centile. In his first year, he was anywhere from the 9th (feeding problems as a tiny baby) to above the 98th (non moving 7 month old on loads of milk plus solids)!
He's now 3.8 and around the 75% centile for both weight and height (I think Blush) which feels right. I was totally expecting him to be bigger at birth as both DP and I are larger than average and I ate loads well during pregnancy Grin

DD was 8lbs 4oz, can't remember what centile that is. She's now just turned 4 and is on 75th for height and weight. She does get a lot of "ooh isn't she tall" but I think she's just lanky like her dad. Her half brother was 6ft by age 16.

DS was 11lbs 14oz, which was something like the 99.95th Hmm and he most definitely did not stay on that centile. As he was my 2nd and I BFed successfully I was not so concerned about getting him weighed. He's roughly on 75th for both as well I think, he is 23m. Though I've hardly bothered checking.

All 3 of my boys were born on or around 50th percentlile, Mr Averages. 8lb 3 (8 days od), 7lb 13 and 7lb 12

ds1 dropped down to the 2nd percentile and pretty much stayed there until I stopped weighing him at about a year. They were concerned awhile ago at 5 that he was a bit skinny and weighed him again and he is still between 2nd and 9th percentile. They suggested feeding him up a bit, more meat (I am veggie) which I did but he is still the same. Very happy and healthy but skinny and about a head shorter than his peers. I think this is natural for him (eats normally) as I am only 5ft.

ds2 is a different body template, much chunkier and is the same height as his peers, clothes come straight off ds1 and onto him even though he is 3y younger. I think he follows his fathers side, he is 6ft and has some chunky family members.

ds3 is a clone of ds1 and is also much smaller. He dropped off the bottom of the percentiles at 6m but we then found out he had silent reflux and he was a terrible feeder. Since treatment he has filled out a lot but still between 2nd and 9th percentile at 10m.

I think, barring illness or poor eating, they find their natural level even in the first year.

DS was born on 50th centile for height & weight and has been cruising along 98th centile for both since 3 months.

Whether they were born early or late affects birth weight too.

Ds was 8lb11 and on 75th centile I think f but 99+ for head and length - his weights at 4 has joined the head and height percentiles.

Dd was 9lb4 - she's only 10m and I don't get her weighed but she is pretty sturdy and definitely has a massive had and long legs but I doubt her weight is as close to the top end as it was.

Mine have all stayed to scale!

My DD1 was 57cm at birth and is now a relatively tall adult at 5 ft 8
DD2 was 48 cm and is now 5 ft 3

DS 1 was 55cm and a not so tall 18 yr old at 5 ft 9
DS2 was 58 cm thin as a rain and at 14 is 6 ft and still thin as a rail!

They have stayed at pretty much the same height centiles since they were very small, although DS1 was a fat toddler and now is a very slim young man!
