Ds 2.6 kept saying sorry for being sick....

...and I don't know why.(He had a tummy bug last night). I have never told him off for being sick, I am the only prson who has ever looked after him when he is sick, and it is heartbreaking to hear him retch for 10 minutes then moan "Sowwy, Mummy" and collapse sobbing!

why is he doing this? I find it so distressing that he gets upset with himself, him being sick doesn't bother me remotely, it's his reaction to it.

Poor little mite! Can't explain it though. Maybe it's the mess?

Just give him lots of reassurance I suppose.

prob the mess. It sounds quite sweet. All I get is mummy, why did u give me tea that made me sick?

he managed to get it in the potty though, I was actually really proud of him for getting it in the potty when it is so hard to do when you feel sick, and he is not usually the over sensitive type.

Hmmm. He never said sorry when he drew on my dining room chair with my mascara....

My kids do this too but then so do I, especially if I am being sick cos i've drunk too much

I used to do this! and probably about the same age.I suppose it could be because he is aware that being sick isn't nice, it can be smelly and noisy and he may feel self concious about it- i think that's why i apologized anyway. Just reassure him that is ok and you love him- even when he's sick!
Hope he feel better soon.

pmsl @ dining room chair. I think I used to say sowwy too for being sick - you just know that you feel rough, and it smells bad, so you say sorry for putting someone else through it too. Its lovely to hear that your little man has that much compassion already (even if not for the chair )
