Mum panicking, 15 mth old only 27 inches

Help please I'm panicking.

My DS is only about 27 inches, he was always 25-50 percentile up until 8 months, but now i am panicked. I've looked at the charts today and it appears he has dropped off a cliff!

Please tell me if anyone else has had this and their child has 'caught up', I'm gong to call the health visitor tomorrow but dreading it she is a bit of a drama queen and I know that she will make me feel worse.

I'm 5 6' and DH is 6 1' if thats relevant ??

Thank you

So, about 68.5cm?

Amy72 · 27/06/2011 19:27

Yes about that.

Don't forget someone always has to be on the tail end of the centile charts and it generally is nothing to worry about.

How is his weight in comparison?

Amy72 · 27/06/2011 19:31

Hi is weight seems to be in line with his height, he is narrow and definitely not stocky but he looks in proportion.

I was told when DD was tiny that a child's height has almost no bearing on their adult height, and that's why they don't bother measuring children any more.

I should say infants rather than children, I know that children can be measured at school etc.
