Ds1(10) crying this morning, girl at school told him that if he didn't say to friends that he loved her and be her boyfriend she would tell teacher about a rude word he wrote in a note book (with his friend) on their school trip.Ds has worried himself sick about this for a week! Glad he told me & knows he done wrong,but told him that what he did is normal kids stuff &what she is doing now is a lot worse!Dont know where to go from here,as she is the type of girl that wont let this rest.I dont want to make it worse for Ds.

I would go and tell the teacher - so, he wrote a word, not the end of the world - but she needs to know what she is doing is VERY naughty, and the fact it upset your son for a week is horrible!

I would leave well alone for the moment. I doubt that the teacher is going to be sympathetic to the girl telling tales now about a minor indiscretion which took place more than a week ago. Besides, the girl would have to admit to knowing the rude word herself, and repeat it, which is not going to reflect well on her. Back your son up over not giving in to her emotional blackmail. If she comes up with a more credible threat, it might be a good idea for you to talk to the teacher then.

Ds told her that he had told me all about it, she didn't seem to care. At playtime she told him to judge a singing comp the girls were having or she would tell the head(who was standing behind them).my ds told her that she can't tell him what to doand walked away! brave,good for him.But he still wants me to talk to the teacher. Because he knows that she wont stop and she will tell everyone lies about him.

If your son wants you to talk to the teacher, do it. I'm sure he or she will be sympathetic. It sounds like your son is doing the right thing and standing up to the girl - good on him. However, I would reassure him that the girl's lies are unlikely to be believed - presumably the rest of the class know what she's like!

Went to see ds teacher today. Said its the 2nd case of blackmail she's dealt with in a week! They must be watching too much tele!! Said to tell ds to let girl tell on him and he wont get in trouble. Thanks for your advice,hopefully that will be the end of it.
