4 month old stopped rolling

My DS spent all last week rolling onto his front. Now he's totally stopped. He still loves lying on his front with head up and sitting up propped with pillows but has gone from rolling every minute to not at all.

He's had green poo and blood this week and has paediatric check on weds but seems well in self just this strange almost backward step. Any ideas?

He's probably bored with it.
Been there, tried that, what's the big whoopdedoo about lying on my front? I'd much rather be lying on my back where I can hold a toy up and have a good chew on it.

He'll probably come back to it again soon, with a bit more strength and the urge to find out what a full rollypolly feels like.

If he's well in himself, I'd leave him for a week or two. If he seems to be unhappy or ill in any way, I'd talk to a HV or GP sooner than that (especially in view of the blood he's had).

If he has a stomach bug that could have slowed him down a bit. But also remember that babies do stuff in spurts, learn a new thing, then go on to the next, seemingly forgetting the one before.

Wait a couple of weeks, no need to worry yet.

My DD rolled about 3 times shortly before she was 4 months old, then didn't roll again until she was 11 months old (rolled simply to allow herself to stand in her cot), I think she had no use for it so didn't bother. You know he can but chooses not to, so I wouldn't have thought he was going backwards in any way.

My DD has rolled about 5 times ( she is 16 weeks) and now is less than interested! I think she has proved she can do it and now wants to do the next thing...try not to worry!

My ds2 (12mo) has done this with nearly all of his milestones- crack it, practise a bit, then completely stop. It's like he needs a consolidation period for the new skill to sink in, then after a bit he starts up again and it very soon becomes routine. I wouldn't worry if he doesn't seem unwell.
