Well report it probably a bit strong, buy the playschool are monitoring his behaviour and just wandered if this has happened to anyone elses son.

I have been assured that its not because exceptional bad behaviour, in fact he is one of the best in the groups, they are just trying to keep his enthusiasm under control. for example if they are standing in line for sometime he jumps on the person infront and is easy excitable, at first I was not sure what they were getting, but the assure me they are preparing him for school.

Not easy to do, I know, but try not to worry. My ds also had some problems in nursery. In his case it was liked to slow development of language. We put in place the ideas they suggested and there has been a big improvement in his behaviour. To my mind eary intervention is the key. They have identified a small problem and want to get it sorted. Better to do it now than when he is,say 5 or 7. It sounds as if they are very switched on.

Your only concern should be if you don't think that this is right for your ds. I felt that the earier my ds was gently 'civilised' the better . That way he would be gradually prepared for the organisation that would come with starting school.

Breeze - I have had the same problems with my 3yo DD at nursery. She's very excitable and lively, and she can't sit still for more than 2 mins - unless watching a video. She has got better at nursery but still has her days. I asked the nursery staff to tell her at all times the reasons why she had to sit down, line up etc. DD will not do any of those things at the moment unless she knows the purpose (ie lining up to go outside). Also my Dh and I started to get a bit tougher with her at the dinner table to keep consistent with the nursery. She still fidgets but she knows that she has to stay at the table until she has finished eating.

Meant to say also that I also agree with hmb about early intervention. DD used to be at a nursery which was pretty laid back, but we changed to another nursery which had a lot more rules with behaviour. DD found it hard at first but she has fitted in well. We both wanted to tackle this early - although it is hard as DD being exictable has always been her personality !
