My (nearly) 4 year old DS has been doing this for a few months - not all the time but just sometimes with certain types of food e.g. apple with skin on. He will take it and eat it and then keep some in his mouth which he doesnt want any more. My childminder (he goes 2 days a week) says it is a 'control' type thing and doesnt want it to get out of hand and become an issue. He will sit there for ages with it in his mouth rather than say that he doesnt want it in the first place. Sometimes get him to spit it out but would rather he swallows it or says that he has had enough or doesnt like it in the first place. Any ideas on how to deal with this? My childminder (who is great and very experienced but says she has never seen this before)thinks i should have a word with my HV but TBH have usually found them fairly useless. (No offence to any HV on here!)
Thanks in advance for any advice
