Just gave my 8 month DS Granules hope they work.. really suffering at night have you used them before??? he is not sleeping at night at all nearly in tears about this x

Are they homeopathic? If he's in pain then I would give him a painkiller.

Never used them, but wanted to let you know you are not alone with a grumpy, not sleeping teething (nearly) 8 month old.

DS got a slug of calpol at 3am this morning after sleeping 10 & 30 min slots all night. It gave us 1 1/2 hours peace.

I shall be deploying the ibuprofen tonight if this continues.

Teething granules work quite well but they are homeopathic so ideally give them with calpol if the teething pain is that bad.

Yes it is homeopathic .. but he has calpol and gel everything nothings working... i found ashton and parson worked but cant get it any more , so hope this does x

omg Antidote!! that was me last night every 30 mins up have you noticed your ds going off solids my little one dont want to know do you think thats normall has you DS cut any yet mine has 1 bless x

Granules work as a bit of a distraction as they are sweet, but they won't help with the pain as they don't actually contain an active ingredient.

DS is cutting his second lower incisor (he got the first one last week).

With the first one he went totally off his food, from having been a very adventurous eater to yoghurt & baby porridge only for a few days (and very small quantities). We were just getting back into it. Grrrrr.

From what I coud gather on MN & the NHS baby book it is normal for them to go off food when weaning, sometimes related to teeth and sometimes just 'because'.

I put the dreadful sleep last time down to hunger (from not eating during the day) so tried to give him a bottle of formula at about 11pm, but it didn't really help. He just wants to nurse all night, which then makes him not hungry during the day.

This time he is a bit off his food, but not as bad as before. I am not going to give him formula at night this time so he at least keeps his appetite. I shall be giving him regular calpol & ibuprofen at night, and anebesol before meals.

It won't last forever, surely?

My Little one is the same been eating really well and now its next to nothing.. but he is wanting more milk so letting him have what he wants really .. hope thats a good thing

I agree that the waking at night is not just his teeth but like you said hunger as well all he wants is milk at the moment .. I think the second one is due to cut any day soon .. also i noticed he has had a upset belly with teething as well put that down to teeth as well lol god i really need sleep 2night shattered i think we are going through the same..

How do you find DS in the day my little one still a grump xx

He is variable during the day. DH says his mood is 'fragile': happy playing one moment, then screaming his head off over a trivial bump or something silly like being moved from one room to another!

He was very happy to go for a nice cycle ride in the sunshine yesterday, clapping, giggling, generally his normal self. But then was distraught at being put in the bouncer so I could do the shred DVD, (ha bloody ha).

If he is miserable tonight I am going to banish DH to the spare room & go back to co-sleeping. At least that way I'm not staggering up & down stairs to the nursery & stubbing my toes on the stair gates.

He's napping now, which is good. I hope...........

well DS is in his walker as i type... seems happy but like you say can change his mood so quick..

The teething granules worked like magic for my ds and he was a bad teether. I don't believe in homeopathy but I was desperate and would try anything. They really soothed him - don't know why really but they were fab.

I think homeopathy is a crock of shite but have found Ashton and Parson's 'baby crack' powders to have had a calming effect on both DC when teething.

Gave DS1 calpol and / or ibuprofen as needed but DS2 has refused to let a drop of calpol pass his lips so far, so have been very grateful for the effect of the powders.

I think it has a sugary, ? lactose base and wonder if this has an analgesic effect.

We had a lovely stretch of 3 hours from 1 til 4, but then the nappy leaked and it took nearly an hour for him to re settle. Still, much better than the night before. He is mighty grumpy this morning, but luckily I am less knackered!

Hi Antidote .. glad you had a beeter night me too lol .. my DS went up at 9 pm woke at 10.30 for a small bit of milk .. then woke at 2am had bottle and went down till around 6 this mornin ... happy mummy at the moment , fingers crossed for later x

Just persuaded DS to eat some supper, which was mostly yoghurt. Better than nothing I guess.

Lets hope we are both on the mend sleep-wise.

Hi my baby teething at 4 months crying all day not bad at night started him on Ashton and parsons hope they work tho and will not feed much give him calpol too don't think it does much tho help please ☺
