DD 2.10 trouble pronouncing her S's

Just wondering if this something I should be concerned about yet or will just improve with time.

Its not all S's. Mainly when the word begins with an s.

She loves her ponge and bathtime and looking at the birds in the ky. A foods are often too Picey for her!

However loves going to Sainsburys and her new shoes.

DS1 is the same age, and does the same. :)

We have the 'nail and the whale at bedtime, but satsumas present no problem.

I think 'sp' is one of the harder sounds to form so comes later in speech development, not sure where I gleaned that info from but pretty sure I didn't make it up.

DS (nearly 3) also likes picey food, piders, pace rockets etc but manages the 's' if followed by a vowel. In fact his s's are still quite lispy but improving.

I find it very cute and think I will miss it when he 'peaks properly [PFB emoticon]

Its a fairly common trait that most grow out of, just repeat the word back to her without telling her its wrong and eventually she will just use it.

DS1 (13yrs) from about 4yrs till 7yrs couldn't pronounce his R's but now not a hint of a problem x

Yes, my 2.5 year old likes to play "wop" (shop) and to go on the "wing". She also really likes to eat "wasauges". THere's a few more and she gets quite cross when I don't understand her as generally her language is very good.

Still waiting for 4.5 year old DS to master the "l" sound.

so many 2.5 yr olds are hardly talking at all-I think yours sound pretty special

DS2 was still doing this when he started school nursery aged 3.11 - and it wasn't just S, he couldn't say F either. Every word seemed to start with a H (one, two, hee, hor, hive, hix, heven...) but by the end of the first half term he could say everything perfectly.

Pranma- Shes an excellent talker.. Doesnt shut up in fact!

Found another s word today that she can say with ease.... "Oh Sake!"

my 3.5 DD can't pronounce any word with an R at the beginning e.g dRess, she substitutes with an F...which was a bit of a problem when she asked for a TRuck for Xmas.....

My DC is 2.9 yrs and can't say anything properly. [jealous]
