Speech Therapists Glasgow area?

hi, My dd aged 4 was seen by an NHS speech therapist last year who was pretty much useless as the approach in our region is not to provide one to one sessions with pre school children. My DD's speech is probably that of a 2.5yr olds and we are really worried as she is starting school next year. Can anyone recommend any private speech therapists in the Glasgow area?

Apologies if this isn't the right place to post! Thanks in advance

how strange! Ds is 4 and has been having 1 to 1 sessions with the speech therapist. We are in North Lanarkshire.

Offering 1-1 help usually depends on the nature of the issue the child has with speech and how longterm it is deemed to be. I used to have a list of therapists in Glasgow area so will dig it out for you (or maybe it was a database you search by postcode).

thanks all, yup Seona it seems that they won't have 1-1 at all in our area. willowthecat that would be great if you could dig out the list or signpost me to the database. Thanks all very much

I think it was the website chocjunkie has linked to that I used - you put in your postcode and it comes up with options for you. You need to make sure that any private therapist has experience with the issues your child has as speech therapy covers a very wide range now - but if you can find the right one, it can make a real difference.
