Can anyone recommend a story-type book

to read WITH my almost 4yr old about going off on her own please?

She's got a really short attention span at times, and is very easily distracted, I do keep her hand in mine 90% of the time, but it's not practical 100% of the time.

It's not sinking in about her going out of sight when in shops etc, and she's becoming a liability tbh. She's just walked out of nursery with another adult and left me looking for her! (i know there's a whole other issue in there, let's not go there for now Angry )

I'm like a broken record, and feel like a real nag most of the time, but she's really struggling to understand.

I thought maybe a story book about keeping safe might help.

I have told her we're going to buy a pushchair if she can't keep near me, but i really don't want to do this Sad

TIA

How about one of these harnesses?

Might be more effective in the short term:

www.amazon.co.uk/Goldbug-Harness-Buddy-Pink-Poodle/dp/B001XNU9RW/ref=sr_1_13?ie=UTF8&qid=1306265399&sr=8-13

There are lots of different animals to choose from & they double as a back pack.
