5 month old waking up at 4:30, previously slept until 6

When people ask me if my baby sleeps through the night I say yes but in reality he was sleeping through from about 7:30pm until 6am but for the past 7 weeks he's been waking up at 4:30am. I have been feeding him because he cries then we all fall back to sleep in our bed until 7am. This has been the norm for 7 weeks now. I think I may have created a habit! I am panicking now because he is getting too big for his crib and will be going into his own room on Saturday. My belief is that as soon as the dawn chorus begins that's when he wakes up. I've tried feeding him and putting him back down in his crib but then he's wide awake and won't go back to sleep, also I've tried not feeding him which was a disaster because he was clearly hungry. I've started him on solids two weeks ago. He is breastfed in the day. Any ideas or tips? Thanks.

my dd used to sleep from 9.30pm -8am, then at about four and a half months started waking up again several times and i gave her millk. then i had to switch to water as i think she was waking up for the milk.

she was waking about 5-6 times during the night. we put her in her own room at the weekend and she only woke up twice on the first night and slept for a solid 12 hours last night.

maybe time for his own room?

I was giving an early morning feed then back to bed until DS around a year old. At 5 months he would wake 2 or 3 times a night. Your baby sounds a dream sleeping a 9 hour stretch at 5mo!
