Inappropriate language from my 3 yo

My 3 year old ds has just been running around the living room yelling "batty-boy" and then shouted at me to speak English.
A few days ago he also called me "a fucking idiot"

Ok, I am guilty of letting the f word slip occasionally, but do you think I should mention the rest to his nursery teacher?

In what context? "I'm sorry my son has started swearing", or "My son has picked up swear words in your care"? Either way, it's a phase, ignore bad language (or at the most, give a mild rebuke); they do it for the reaction.

I don't know........................I think I'm just quite shocked and don't really know what to think or do about it.
I'm assuming he's got it from school and just wondered whether I should bring it up or not.
I'm sure they are aware of it though, so maybe I won't then.

Honestly, I reckon every child goes through this stage, though it is shocking at first. Try not to show your shock though.

Ok.
I expected it to come, but not at 3 years of age!
But yes, I will just ignore it

Unfortunately, to avoid it you'd have to live in a vacuum (and never swear yourself!)

(PS, DS1 started younger than that, with a word that sounded like "oats" to anyone else. That's when I stopped saying "Oh shit" in front of him. Blush)

Thanks OLKN I know, you're right, am just really shocked it starts this young! Suppose this is it now, I'll be hearing the lot.
