My 3mth old's shrieking and screeching is doing my head in!

Agh! He has found his voice and is SHRIEKING and SCREECHING and SQUAWKING. And the noise just cuts right through me. He doesn't seem unhappy as such, maybe a little frustrated - he tries to sit up and goes 'eeeruuuuuuAAAACCCCCCHHH'. Remind me it's just a phase. I don't remember the other two doing it .

Ahhh, he has stopped now after I gave him a cuddle and let him nuzzle at the boob and now lying on the mat smiling at me. Gah, is it really all about attention, isn't it? BAD mummy. Clever baby. But honestly,

anyone else with this going on?

no not me.. mine are 10 yrs 20 yrs qand 23 yrs...but i do remember that stage....it can be qite demanding.
In my experience...feed them up and then they will be happy/sleep/content.
If he has found his voice.....er,, thats good eh?

Yup, he is well fed. Didn't want any more but happy to pootle around the boob a bit. Now gonna go for a walk and pick up the noisy 2 year old. sigh. Think maybe boredom a factor. Have forgotten this baby bit completely.

Yes, positive thinking. Found his voice- good development. Yes...

..and with a noisy 2 yr old sibling your baby will copy the noisy vocal bit. !!

YES - my 4mth old is doing exactly this, it's hilarious! and SO LOUDDD. She squeals if she's happy, bored, tired, excited... is it a phase? or does it go on until they start to talk?

Adair · 17/05/2011 12:56

Can't remember! Hoping just a phase. Though ds continueS to be differently noisy. (now it's NEE NAW NEE NAW NEE NAW)/

Drives me crazy tbh. And yes, he is nearly 4 mths.

Going through this too! DS is 3 months and chunders away to himself constantly. High pitched grinding noises are the speciality!

No advice I'm afraid, just empathy.
