Help! My DD is 5 months old and the last couple of weeks she refuses to sit with anyone except me. If I hand her over to DH she's happy for a couple of minutes but if I try to leave the room she screams blue murder until I take her . Sometimes she even cries although she can see me. This is driving me nuts and I feel sorry for DH as all he gets to hear and see is screaming and tears. I've tried to let her scream with DH (thinking she'll get over is if she can't see me) but the screaming just goes on and on. I know that kids at some stage will prefer one parent to the other but I didn't think that would happen until much later. What can I do? Any suggestions?

Sounds horrible. I do remember dd1 going through a stage when I couldn't leave her in a room alone for a second at this age, but she was OK with dh. I don't think its uncommon though, and I'm sure she will get over it and move onto the next problem soon!

Sorry dd was like this from about 5 months. It improved from about 2. Nothing I tried worked and she was impossible to leave anywhere for a while, although she would stay with dh eventually. Hopefully your dd will get over it sooner.
