hi everyone, thanks first for reading this post. I just wondered when, in other people's experiences, babies or toddlers start bringing over a toy to show mummy or daddy (or anyone!), or bringing over a favourite book to read for example? I wouldn't have noticed that my dc doesn't do this as it never occurred to me, but a friend mentioned yesterday that her dc brings over her favourite books to be read to her. And I see other toddlers bring over toys to show mummy etc. My dc never has done this and I am starting to wonder if that is a bit odd? Thank you in advance for any replies

ds1 was very into books and i am pretty sure was bringing books to me at under a year

the other 2... i couldn't tell you but would hazard a guess at before 18 months

DS2 is 14 months and it was about a month ago when he started bringing me toys and books :)

I can't remember them bringing me toys. I can remember them bashing me with things!

Actually, with the books they probably both started around 18mo.

Mine was about 15/16 months I think. How old is your DC? Do they show shared attention in other ways, pointing etc?

BeeMyBaby · 11/05/2011 04:24

My DD is 15 months and doesn't do this yet...

TryLikingClarity · 12/05/2011 10:24

My DS is 14 months and has been doing this for about a month and a half.

OP - what age is your DC?

Quenelle · 12/05/2011 10:50

DS 22.5mo brings books to us to read, can't remember when he started doing it though.

I don't recall him bringing a toy over though.

About 18 months when she would start showing me things. I don't think it anything to worry about though. Before she started bringing things to me, she would point to things and say "Wsat?" (what's that).
