3 month old suddenly hates baths!

Dd2 is 3 months old and has been bathed every day since birth. Like all babies she took a few baths to enjoy it but has loved them ever since. We put her in the big bath in a moulded seat at about 8 weeks with dd1 and she loved it so much she screamed blue murder when you got her out.

All of a sudden last week she just started screaming in the bath. We've tried her out of the seat, in the baby bath again etc but she's showing no sign of improvement. I know she doesn't need a bath everyday but it's an important pat of the family routine so I don't want to stop. We also start swimming lessons on Tuesday and I'm worried she'll scream the whole time! Any ideas?

Have you tried having a bath with her, or getting in the bath before her to show her that it's not scary and actually pretty fun? Perhaps undressing her and giving her a sponge bath in the bathroom whilst your DD1 is in the bath? That way you keep the routine without the screaming.

It's horrible when they go through a phase where they hate what they previously loved. I guess that there is so much going on developmentally wise that sometimes certain things can just overwhelm them.

Hope tomorrow goes better.

Dh does bath time and I did suggest that he got in with the girls but he felt it would be a bit of a squash! I have to do bedtime on my own tomorrow as he's out so should be interesting!

IMO &E they change all the time I wouldn't bother for a few days (topping and tailing instead) and go back to normal if she shows interest again it's not a big deal is it?
