DS 3.6 years has had a super day, been so good, great company.

Got home, playing with baby brother (14months), I hear a hugh cry only to find he has bitten him on the head! There didn't even appear to be a scuffle/problem, he just bit him!

I sat him in time out, comforted a very very upset baby brother, made DS then say sorry, then sent him to bed. He is now screaming in bed, "I need you, I'm sorry".........code for I want to get out of bed.

I am so cross!!!

He has bitten before, but I thought we were past that. Grrrrrrr!!!!!!

Ah I think you've done the right thing. My DS has taken to biting recently too, he's 3, think it's just a 'phase' they go through. Just have to try and nip in the bub 'scuse the pun! He tends to bite his older sister though rather than younger one, usually when we are in the car and they are sitting in the back next to eachother. I have told her to bite him back now if he does it again, not to hard but just enough to show him it hurts...probably not the right thing to do and will probably cause uproar now! Have just started with the naughty spot but it's a bit hard to do in the car!

I think really fussing over the one that has been bitten and ingnoring the one who has hurt them does have a real impact aswell. Hope he settles down for you soon.

i think you need to calm down a bit. kids bite.. sometimes they want to do something so badly to see what it's like that they can't help themselves

you've told him off, you've punished him. that'#s the end of it.

so if he is very distressed now i think you should go and see to him. calmly. this is a whole separate issue
