2.5 tantrum

Hi all, I think I just need a little reassurance. Picked DS 2.5 up from CM yesterday and while there the door bell went and CM went to open it. DS screamed "me do it, me do it" but it was too late. He then proceeded to scream and cry, so I picked him up to him going stiff in my arms, with his head back and arms out to the side!!! I thought he was having a fit. The childminder luckily said blow in his face, I did and he took a big breath in and cried again. CM said she has seen a few children do these tantrums and not to worry, it's just him screaming and breathing out too much. He was fine after and I asked him if he was okay and why he it happened and he just said he wanted to open the door???
Please tell me others have witnessed this or anything similar?
