11 week old motor skills

Disclaimer: I know they develop at different rates, but have a first-timer paranoid question.

DD is 11 weeks (and a bit). Great head control, lots of smiles and coos/agoos/squeals. BUT she makes no attempt to reach for objects/bat things. If you hold a rattle or muslin to her fingers she will sometimes take it for a few seconds, more out of instinct than choice.

Has she just inherited my shoddy coordination skills, or is this something the HV will have sth to say about?

I think it sounds perfectly normal. My lot didn't keep hold of toys until they were around 4 months old. That was when you would give them a rattle and they'd bonk themselves on the head with it. Grin

she sounds spot on for her age. dont worry at all. 11 weeks would be very young to be grabbing things with intention to hold them.

Mine couldnt use hands deliberately until about 15 weeks old (or later?). Family of early walkers, too.

DS couldn't/wouldn't hold or pick up anything until about 6 months. He's quite normal now :)
