My DD (nearly 5) seems to find it hard not to speak. For example if she asks for something and I say that I am getting it she asks again, I then tell her I'm getting it and not to ask again and she does! It's like she actually can't stop herself.
For example, today at dinner I was wiping down the table and talking the plates away and she asked for afters, I said I was going to have a look and see if we had anything, she said "well go on then go and get it, go on" (rather rudely) I told her that I was clearing up and would go and look and not to be so rude so she said "well are you getting afters then, go on!" I told her that if she asked again she wouldn't get any and she didn't.
She does this all the time! Just now she was asking her dad for water and he was getting the water and she was still asking for it even though she could see he was getting it!
Does anyone else's child do this? She gets into trouble for it and if she keeps on she doesn't get the things she wants to try and teach her to stop asking. Sometimes though I lose it and get really angry as it's like having a woodpecker at your head! Sometimes I have been know to tell her to "close her mouth!"
