Nursery Trauma - when does it end?

My DS is nearly 2, and due to a house move we have had to put him in a new nursery.

It is a lovely nursery with lovely people, lots to do and lots to play with, but it is different (and bigger) than his last nursery, where he had been since he was 6 months old and was very happy and attached to his carers.

It's only early days for the new nursery - day 2 in fact, but he screams when I drop him off, 'mummy! mummy!' and holds his arms out to me, it's heartbreaking.

I'm sure this is very common and that he'll get through it, I just wondered if anyone else out there had experienced something similar, and could give any advice?

Thanks, xx

Does he settle once you've left? Day 2 is very early days indeed. Give it time and stay strong and happy (I know that's hard!). Should ease in time as he gets used to his new routine.

Arrrrrrrgggggghhhh! 3 weeks later and this is still happening. Is this normal? It's breaking my heart... should I be thinking about alternative arrangements? Different nursery, childminder?

3 weeks is still early days in a transition that includes home and nursery. It's probably not the nursery per se, but that adjustment takes time.

Does he settle when you've gone? Is he generally happy there? Is there a key worker system so that he spends most time with a few people.
