hi hope someone can help. maybe i shouldve put this in potty training but im sure its a behaviour thing rather than he doesnt know what hes doing.
my ds 3.10 has been toilet trained since 2.3 ish and dry in the night since roughly 2.6. hes done so well.
we have reached a point now though where he only uses the bathroom toilet during day and has his potty by the bed during the night (he seems ok with this)
for about a month now he has started wetting his pants. hes not starting to go but cant get there in time, hes just going and doesnt mind being wet and doesnt tell us. i would say this happens 5/6 times a day. he gets so upset when we change him into some more pants/trousers too.
we have a 6mo dd too which i thought maybe is affecting him. he loves her to bits and is as good as gold. there has been no bad feeling what so ever. i do realise though that, that doesnt mean her arrival is not affecting him in other ways. i also understand that children love to uses toileting as a way of control. we are now giving the ignoring it route. when he does it change him but dont give him any attention for doing it.
have any of you been through this and what worked for you?

Dont worry - this is not uncommon - particularly in little boys! Making a 'going to the toilet' book with pictures for each step helps reinforce what is expected and adding in a sticker/reward chart provides some motivation - erhaps let him choose what stickers he would like. A gentle reminder to go to the toilet if you think he is needing to go will help as well. I presume he is ok with his poos?

yeah hes great with poos. we did the reward chart thing at the begining maybe it is time to go back there. very frustrating, jusy when you thought you've conquered it hey!
