How fast will DD's (3.1yo) and DS's (5.1yo) feet grow now?

I know it's a bit of a vague question! I don't know whether to get them summer sandals in their current sizes or half a size up as I don't want to have to rebuy them if poss. Or does it not really matter as the toes will be open? DS is wearing size 12 1/2 and has been for about 4 months. DD is an 8 1/2 but has only just gone into that size. WWYD?

Don't think you can tell at all. Dd1's feet didn't grow for more than 2 years at 5, dd2 went up half a size roughly every 3-6 months.
The shoes fitters I've used commented that children's feet seem to grow more in the spring, but I'm not sure if that's an old wives' tale or not.

Get them measured again now if you want to buy them now, then get that size- should allow for half a size growth. Also, some styles cope with growth more than others.

Am holding out to buy sandals yet.... still haven't sussed this one, all their peers have been in crocs last couple of years, but DS (4.5) didn't get on very well with them- gave him blisters. Think I'll go for a more sporty/clarks? sandal this year- wonder if he'll wear them tho? Any recommendations?!

Ds3 (4.9yrs) has had the same size feet for almost a year (8.5). I have just bought Clarks Doodles - last years style - for him. They cost £5, but even if you have to buy this years they are not all that expensive. I plan to wait and see if his feet grow before buying anything else.
