Boy has decided high-pitched squealing in the nearly lultrasonic range is the in thing. He's 7 months. Please tell me its a short-lived gimmick they growout of quickly.

it's something they all have a go at. Do your best to ignore and if he doesn't get a response then hopefully he'll give it up as a means of communication.

dd did it for longer than the boys, but it's hideous isn't it - and so difficult to 'not react' even if you think they're not looking. They think adults wincing and cringing is awesome.

My 2nd child did this at about same age. Bloody hurt! He seems to have grown out of the really painful screams.
