hi...

i maybe just being paranoid but my 8 wk old baby, who is still very tiny, is not hitting the supposed milestones.

She has only once smiled in response to me a week ago, but nothing since. She can't lift her head on playmat when on tummy, however she can hold her head when on my shoulder. She doesn't always focus on objects in front of her.....she doesn't even pay attention to her wrist toy. She does coo....and she is very alert.

I am so paranoid about autism etc...

any advice??

8 weeks is so young. If she is alert, developing head control and has smiled I wouldn't be concerned. Try not to get too Hung up on milestones - easier said than done, I know.

i know....i just compare her to other babies and they seem more advanced.

thank you

I didn't even know 8 week olds had milestones.
Thus speaketh a mother of 4 (now age 3-11).
It is way too early to worry, OP.

Thank you guys. I was changing her this morning and she kind of gave me smiles and a wide open laugh like smile....she was looking at me and i was talking to her, so hopefully not just wind.

But a different baby now, as just had her jabs :-(

Has she had her 8 week check? That's what you need, then you will chill out Smile
