Toddler loves hands in pockets

I'm just curious if anyone has a child who uses their clothing pockets all the time? My son is 20 months old and LOVES having his hands in his pockets. I don't mean down his nappy to grab onto what's precious (although he will do that given a chance). In his pockets. He uses his hands normally, but if he's just standing around observing something, he'll put his hands in his coat or trouser pockets. When he doesn't have anything with pockets, he sometimes improvises by tucking his hands under his waistband. Yesterday he was just wearing a vest and he tucked his hands into the armholes.

I'm not bothered by it, but I do find it puzzling as I've not seen another child do the same. Does anyone else have a kid who does this?

Ds did this for a bit, but then switched to holding one thumb in a fist and only using one hand at a time... I'm told it's a security thing that's a bit like thumb-sucking etc and they grow out of it.
