DD (6) has a crush - What age was your / your DDs first crush and any advice how to deal with it?

My DD (6) seems to have developed strong feelings for an 8yr old boy. She says she's 'in love' with him and I saw them the other day looking like lovesick teenagers, arms wrapped round each other. All very innocent looking, just intense IYSWIM.

Any advice?

DD2 is 5 and developed strong feelings for her teacher. She would talk about her all the time, and get weepy at times, saying things like, "I just think I wish Mrs R was my mummy." Quite a shock, that one!

I treated it as normal, really. Reassured and comforted her when her feelings got too much for her. It seems to have calmed down now of its own accord.

Probably a bit different when it's a boy, though...
