8mth old making himself sick

Hello. I have a problem with my 8mth old boy. He has always been a really good eater and enjoyed his food. You could put any type of food infront of him and he would try it and usually eat it all up.

Last week he had a stomach bug and was very ill so much so that he would be heaving and only bile would be coming up. It was very distressing and scary. Although the bug has gone and he is alot happier and got his colour back he has started heaving while eating his food! So much so he makes himself sick. It almost seems like he heaves for the attention but he goes to far and ends up throwing up all his dinner. I am worried I will never be able to get him to keep a meal down or feed him in public.

Has anyone else had this problem after a stomach bug or other bad habits? And any advice on how to stop it? I am very worried he will keep losing weight and not ever keep a meal down!

Thanks - any helpmuch appreciated
Very worried mum Sad

i think the most likely answer is that he is still suffering the effects of the bug. it can take a while for them to fully recover. when ds2 had a bad stomach bug a couple of christmasses ago we had puking intermittently for about 2 or 3 weeks after he was over the worst of it

he's not doing it for attention, he's only 8 months old.
i'd just offer very small amounts of food, maybe finger food so he can control how much he eats?
and just see how you go

if it continues though, you should probably see the GP
