this week LO decided that I'm back to being her milk machine, she's happy to feed and sleep a bit on me, but other than that she refuses to be in my arms (which is cool) she only stops crying on her play mat, but she gets bored after half an hour, she cries when I hold her, if I try to play and it's on a bad mood if we go out .

what am I supposed to do here? leave her on her playmat all day and pick her for feeds?... she's back to feeding every 2 hours!!! and not really napping... she's 10 weeks... ideas?? (she was already playing, napping and feeding every 3/4 hours... she's still playing with DH)

Might she be ill? My DD did this and after about a week I realised that she had a nasty throat infection and probably felt dreadful. Babies often regress when ill and perhaps the crying indicates that too. Is something hurting when you pick her up which is why she doesn't want to be held? Has she had a fall? I would go to the GP if I were you.

I hope all goes well.

she's 10 weeks old. she isn't going backwards in her development she is just figuring out things she likes.
she isn't in a "bad mood" either... she's a tiny newborn baby!!!

all you have to do is feed her and keep her happy and safe...

really, there is no need to worry and nothing you need to "do". she's just a little baby figuring out the world, she is likely to change her routine and feeding patterns and likes and dislikes very frequently

amyamyamy - she had a cold last week, and as her throat was irritated I had to feed her very often (to keep it moisturised) ' maybe she just got used to that, maybe she regressed then?... she hasn't had a fall or anythimg, cannot figure that one

thisisyesterday - thanks, guessing I just have to get used to this... really miss playing with her

Seriously, in a year or so when she's yelling blue murder because you can't play with her 12-bloody-hours-a-day you'll look back on this fondly! There will be lots of playing, lots of phases, lots of changes. Just when you suss this out she'll have a complete change of heart and you'll be trying to work her out again. Babies are completely random!

thanks, I figure out yesterday, she was really cranky because she hadn't had a propper nap, she finally falled sleep at 7pm, for half an hour, and when she woke up she was all smiles, happy to see me :)

now just have to figure out how to convince her to nap, she was really good, but now she's not :(
