hi

i get most of ds' toys second hand, which is great in terms of how much i save :) but it means i don't really know what toys he should have for his age.

i'm going to the nct nearly new sale this month and was wondering if anyone could give me some ideas of what to look out for, that he will like now, or toys that would be good for him in the next few months.

thanks!!

A toddle truck. Unless he's walking confidently already!

Yes definitely some sort of walker.

A soft ball to roll around/ kick. Someone bought DS one - hours of fun!

My DS loves anything with wheels that be pushed along the floor.

Bricks e.g megabloks.

A sit on and ride car.

a pull along toy for once he's up and walking

some sort of lean on toy (flashing lights and buttons on it) for walking with (there are a couple of different v tech ones that always turn up at sales)

Trucks diggers trains cars - big chunky ones that perhaps have little people and props with them

Have a look at ELC website and browse by age to get an idea of whats aimed at them.

My kids are always happiest with a balloon! 3 and 10 months! but never leave baby alone with a balloon.

ELC dicovery cylinder - DD2 (11mths) got her's for Xmas & adores it. It's basically a soft cylinder with a v small hole in the top, with 5 squishy items you can take in & out for hours. Amazingly popular.

thanks, that's loads of ideas! heres hoping its a good sale now...

may pick up the discovery cylinder GraceK anyway as it looks cool and is well priced (unlike most toys!) thanks!

Stacking cups - I recommend these to everyone.

Have you seen the treasure baskets idea? Easy to put together from random household stuff and perfect for this age.

Get a toddle truck with bricks in anyway - DD is 3 and still plays with hers... almost daily!!
