7 month old does not put toys into mouth

I have just got back from a mum and baby group and realised that my ds is the only baby not continuously putting things in his mouth. He is dribbling for England, with bright red cheeks and if you put your finger in his mouth he will bite down really hard - so I presume he is teething like the others. Obviously from one point of view this is brilliant, no soggy toys. However it did get me wondering if anyone else has had a baby that didn't suck everything at this stage?

dd didn't really mouth anything apart from her thumb (which she would chew through to an open wound) and her teddy comforter. She's 2 and cutting her molars with such profusion of dribble that it made her sick trying to swallow it last night.

Lottie's never been a toy chewer. She'll bite down on a teething ring when i shove it into her face (!) and then just fling it across the room.

no ds didn't ever put things in his mouth. He had a dummy right from the start, and weaned himself off that at 4 months !!!!

It made me a bit complacent tho about having tiny toys before he was 3. remember to be vigilant just in case yours changes his habits

Read the thread about not saying thanks and feel a bit bad now. Thanks, you've put my mind at rest.

Back again. Ds is now 8.5 months and he's getting really frustrated that he can't put rice cakes or a bottle anywhere near his mouth. I can see his muscles twitching but he just goes rigid with his mouth wide open his arms out to the sides and then starts to cry. The nearest he has got is sticking a rice cake in his eye, and he did all sorts of contortions to get that far.
