ADHD?

I have a member of my family who has some odd behaviours and I was wondering is this rang true please?

On the surface, he appears to be on the spectrum, coming across as rude, blunt, and misreading social situations, as well as not repairing them when they go wrong. He prefers attention to detail over the big picture and he is extremely egocentric.

However, he is also extremely emotionally intelligent, can debate from any/every angle and usually prefers to take the angle that will most antagonise the others in the social situation.

I'd appreciate any thoughts on this.

Tia

Aspergers Syndrome is a possibility but not a certainty. Some people are just awkward buggers lol.

Sorry, forgot to add that he also has a dyslexia dx.

My son has dx of ADHD and has none of the traits you mention. He is however, very active, loud, loves being centre of attention, is a social animal, can be in your face, funny, silly and a pain in the butt .... He has little attention to detail and poor concentration unless it involves playing with his mates. How old is this family member? Does he take after either parent? Some people are just like this, but it depends on how much it affects his daily life to whether he would warrant a dx of any kind. How is he at school? Assuming he still goes . . . .

Ah, just seen your thread on SNChildren .... I think the only reason I'd want to know if my father aged 64 was or wasn't on the spectrum would be related to hereditary risks to my children
