chewing cuffs and collars

How can i break 9yo DS of his cuffs and collars habit? He's starting to look manky.

I remind him to stop everytime I notice him doing it, he says it's not a 'nervous' habit connected with worrying, and he doesn't really realise he's doing it. Have tried telling him off, telling him its skanky and germy, and being 'understanding', asking what he thinks would help him stop(he doesn't know).

I said I want to soak them in lettuce juice (hated food). Any ideas? Would nail-bite-stopper work?

My DS also 9 does this, I use puppy bitter bite spray which I spray on after I wash them each time. Works really well. He has ruined lots of clothes though.
Nail biter fluid comes in too small a bottle i would think

I have this one at the moment but any good pet shop will sell similar. They should sell it as anti collar/cuff chew spray as it hasn't worked for any of my dogs!

Thanks. I would never have thought of that in a million years.

dd2 is 6 and chews her cuffs, but not all the time and not even really in nervous situations

DS1 does this - definitely worse if the cuffs are slightly long, I tried nail biter stuff unfortunately he started chewing the chest area instead...
