Is this normal and natural behavior. She has done it on a number of occasions to her dad and to male friends. i find this very embarrassed and have discussed with her that this area is private.

Course it's normal. They've got something different to her and she wants to see.

meditrina · 06/03/2011 22:43

Completely normal. How old is DS? Could you throw them in the bath together a few time? When she's had some opportunities to see, the curiosity will fade.

My two dds (3 and 6) Laugh in complete hysterics if they catch DH naked.Poor man.Cackling laughter isn't quite what you want when naked. They think it is truly hilarious and try to grab it,while he rushes into his pants trying to fight them off so yes,I think its normal!

EllieG · 06/03/2011 22:50

My 3 year old has to be restrained from rushing into the bathroom when DH goes in there cos 'I want to see where daddy's wee comes out, he's got a funny bottom'

Is all normal, will grow out of it.

mercibucket · 06/03/2011 22:52

hmmm have to say dd has never shown any interest but then again as we all wander round in the buff in the mornings that's probably why.

Wills · 06/03/2011 22:58

My 7 year old is just the same. But my 10 (almost 11) year old is absolutely horrified. I would say that within the next 2 years the 7 year old will be the same so yes its normal.

trix11 · 06/03/2011 22:59

Thanks for the reassurances. Her brother is 9 and her younger brother is 3. She has grabbed hold of her younger brothers willy before and made him scream. Hopefully she will grow out of it soon enough.

hope so or else her future husband's going to walk with a limp Grin

Normal to be inquisitive and normal to explain that a willy is a special thing that can't be grabbed.

DD1 who's 4 insisted on watching DH do a wee. He tried to fend her off but she was so curious and cross at being fobbed off that he let her watch from across the room. Now she knows where daddy's wee comes from and her curiosity is satisfied.

my DD is nearly 7 and still obsessed with willys! we went to a farm at the weekend and she saw a huge shire horse and of course his willy had popped out which she found very interesting- but ladies lets be honest here we never REALLLY grow out of the fascination do we??! lol

meditrina · 07/03/2011 15:02

The 9 yr old might object to being a teaching aid, but your 3 yr old won't. If they don't bath together, could you tip them out into the garden naked (paddling pool? ) when it's warmer? Or on the beach over the summer? Then she'd have plenty oftime to look if she wants, without it being the main event.

Misfitless · 07/03/2011 21:27

Is it because they never see each other naked? It's normal I think. Mine don't sneak a look because from being babies they've seen each other naked and still do (aged 14months, 3.5 years and 5.5 years; noone ever sees my 14 year old naked, but that's normal too!). I remember my DS being fascinated by his dad's penis though. When he heard him going to the loo he'd run in stand right beside him and have a good long stare!
DP felt quite uneasy about this (as a child there was no nakedness in his house) but I think it's all healthy curiosity!

She does see her brothers naked from time to time the nine year old is more discreet now when changing etc. Its just the way she grabs at older males willy area. Ive told her many times that this is not appropriate and its a very private area for adults. Hopefully she will grow out of it very soon.
