Sharing a bedroom

My 2 year old has just started sharing a bedroom with his 4 year old sister. For the first few days, he went to sleep without any problem but recently he has been kicking up a fuss, and so, as we do not want to disturb his sister, we have to lie down with him to get him to sleep or keep him up for another hour or so. I don't really want to put him back by himself again as we need the spare room. He also moved from a cot to a bed at the same time so can get out of bed much easier than if he were in a cot. Has anyone experienced this? It is driving us crazy as we are both so exhausted in the evening- All help much appreciated.

Is your DD definitely disturbed by the noise? DS1 snores right on through DS2's screaming sessions (teething induced) for getting on for 2 hours without batting an eyelid (yes I do thank my lucky stars he's such a deep sleeper).
