Worth getting it checked out. She could just be loud generally, or is she only loud in large groups?

She is loud pretty much all the time unless reminded that you're only inches away!

DD1 is very loud but has a perfect hearing. I was always very quiet, people still ask me to repeat because they don't hear me, and I am half deaf. Confused
It is not a sign in children I think, just for older people who start loosing their hearing, or if it is sudden.
If you are worried I would get it checked. Actually it should be compulsory to do eye and ear checks before the start of school.

My son is deaf, and when he hasnt got his hearing aids in he is very loud and shouty.
Does your DD have grommets? If not it might be congestion that may need grommets.
Can she hear you if you are talking behind her?
Behind a closed door?
If two people are atlaking over her head does she watch you speak?

these are all signs that made me believe my son couldnt hear (plus many others), it took nearly 2 years and many visits to the audiologist for them to believe me!!

Ask for a referral or if anyone else has noticed it, obv school has. Good luck and dont give up til you are sure she is ok.

Thank you for replying. I think I should follow it up. I don't know if these things are hereditary but I had grommets and was very deaf beforehand. My mum had a battle to convince anyone too. I may end up having to accept she's just loud (dh would perhaps suggest that is hereditary Blush) but would hate to find out there actually is a prob.
