DS hasn't changed weight in a year....

He's 3.6 and 2 stone 6lbs. He's been this weight for a year now (I know because I've been trying to shift baby weight for a year and he loves to jump on the scales when I weigh myself each week). He hasn't grown massively, he's about 103cms, probably gained about 2 or 3 cms in a year.

He eats ok, not a massively wide ranging diet, but healthy enough with plenty of cheese and yoghurts etc. I've put him back on full fat milk (he has a cup before bed) but he's quite skinny. He's healthy looking in all other respects though he is quite skinny, when I buy age 3 trousers they're always massive on the waist. Is it odd that he hasn't put on a pound in a year?

My ds (6) hasn't put any weight on for about 18 months, maybe longer, but he's definitely taller, he's always been a skinny-minny though so I haven't even thought to worry about it. He's always full of energy, eats like a horse and is healthy so I'm not too worried.

Similarly my dd (3.2) has stuck at 15.2 kgs for about 8 months now, she's growing height wise though so I think she's just evening out now, she's regulating her own appetite more now rather than having it dictated to her I suppose.

Am not a physiology expert, but my guess is that the main growth age 2.5-3.5yo is in the brain connections and development. The body will get bigger too, soon.

Headfairy- my ds is 3.6 and also weighs 2 stone 6ibs and has for a long time. He's around 102cm. He's skinny and long. To get trousers to fit on the length they're always huge on waist.

No matter how much I try to 'fatten' him up his weight stays the same. According to the growth chart in his red book he's following the 50th percentile lovely so I think as long at their happy and healthy then it's fine.

For the past week je's been complaining of aching legs and he's been eating us out of house and home so I think hr must be going through a growth spurt.

I'm glad to hear ds isn't the only one who's stayed the same weight... I just wish I could :o
