9 months sleep regression

Hi, we are going through the 9 months sleep regression hell at the moment. For the past two weeks DS wakes at least twice or three times a night and then takes between 1 and 3 hours to settle back to sleep. I have read that this is due to all the development babies are going through at this time, but DS is not even making any attempts at crawling, standing, cruising, waving or categorising.. The only way I have managed to settle him is by taking him into bed with me and feeding him, although I know that he is not hungry. When I try to settle him in his room he is fine in my arms and immediately quiet but complains when i put him down. Do you think I should just give in and take him into bed with me or does this mean we are in it for the long haul (both DH and I are no big fans of co-sleeping, we need our space). CC feels cruel but might consider it if it really does work..
Thanks for reading, would love to hear your experiences!

No idea about CC, but just wanted to say that even though you can't see the physical development, that doesn't mean that your son isn't developing - his brain will have to make the connections in order to do physically do the things you list above.

It's the mental activity that causes the sleep problems - the brain is too awake to switch off IYSWIM?

Does that make sense, I'm not sure if I have explained myself very well.

We took DD into bed with us, and stopped when she crawled out of the bed Hmm

Yeah, I think you're right. He is so alert at the moment. I guess we will just have to ride it out. Thanks
