Hi

My little boy has suddenly become really scared of noises - ie my husband was using the hammer to put nails in the wall and he freaked out, and mum was looking after him today and he freaked out when the plumber came and turned the shower on - just wondering why he would suddenly become afraid of things that never used to bother him, he is now scared of balloons wheras previously he used to chase and pop balloons!

They go through stages - dd was terrified of the hoover and the food mixer - got better when she tasted the cake mix!
It was so bad I used to take dd out while dh hoovered!
Sorry I can't offer help, but thought I'd reassure you your ds is normal.

It's very normal; I know lots of children who've done the same.

My 14 m.o. is now scared of emergency vehicle sirens, the calls of the market people ("pound a bowl!"), the hoover, food processor and extractor fan. I used to use the extactor fan to get him to sleep when he was tiny! Shock
