My 14 month old has started screaming whenever he feels like it - be happy, upset, sad etc. It never comes with a tantrum etc he just sits casually and does it.Its very loud and draws attention. Its really getting me down and i hate going places with him now because of it. Ive tried telling him "bad" in a stern voice, ignoring it and even putting my hand over his mouth when he does it but nothing has stopped him. i could just run away when he starts. Any advice? does other children do this?never heard any

My dd is 18mo and screaming has been a hobby of hers for the past few months. She seems to enjoy the sound of her own voice and is just experimenting with what she can do imo. I just ignore it, if I react in any way she thinks it's hilarious. Try not to worry about it, i'm sure other people don't notice as much as you think they do. I've never had any negative reaction because of it.

Thanks for that. People have stared but thats about it. He is just so loud. I think ignoring it might be the best solution as nothing else is working.
