This is causing me and DH serious problems. My son is a child that requires a lot of attention. When he is out with just me he is fine and when out with Dad also fine, When we are all together he is disruptive and seeking attention. He cannot bear Dh & I talking to each other. He behaves badly just to get attention and will paddy etc.. I try to ignore him where possible but sometimes in a busy public place you just have to remove him. It means that we can not go out as a family and it is making our lives miserable. He goes to Day Nursery and is exemplary although he still seeks adult approval and would rather play with grown ups than his peers

Anyone else experience this sort of thing?

my ds1, also 4, is a bit like this. Not so bad with me and dh, but more if im with my mum, sister, friends. Its almost like he's saying "hey, im here, dont even think about giving anyone else attention". He used to make as much noise as possible even if i was on the phone, luckily he's better with that now. He's also good with just me. No advice, just know what its like!
