Hi everyone,
My 23 months old little girl is able to count up to 20 and knows the full alphabet by heart, she always wants to play this game where I write a letter on a paper an she says what it is. She also knows shapes and wants us to read her books all the time. Also remembers everything on the books. She watches Mr Tumble and tries sign language and knows few signes too. She knows how to work the iPhone and the HTC and goes to youtube app then goes to favourites and plays her nursery rhymes.

Everywere I go I get other moms saying to me 'she is very advanced isnt she?' the thing is I know every parent thinks their babies are clever and advanced and I dont really know if being able to do all these is advanced or if it is normal for a 23 months old toddler. Can someone help me please :) Thank you.

Hi there, my son is 22mths and is too doing all the things you mentioned!! Even an expert on the Iphone!!

His nursery cant beleive how advanced he his as cant friends/family. My daughter is 12 and was never this advanced so we have been thinkining that DS is obviously very gifted!! We dont do anything special with him, he just enjoys learning.

Little bit gutted that he isn't as individual as we thought he was! LOL! but made up for you, hope you as proud as we are. Don't know about you but find it exciting to be teaching him new things etc.

How is her talking coming along??

Hi Thank you very much for getting back to me :), she is talking a lot and says 3 word sentances at the moment, also we speak two languages at home and she knows how to switch to English when we are out.

We took her to a pre prep school the other day and the principle was so amazed at her abilities! So she'll be starting there in sep.

Like you I enjoy teaching her too because she is an amazing learner and I never pushed her to learn.

So it is alright to think she is a little bit gifted isnt it? lol what do u think?

Good luck to your son :)

I think she sounds lovely :) just enjoy her, and don't worry about whether she's 'advanced' (that can put a lot of pressure and stress on children) - development comes in fits and starts, and it's more important that she is happy and healthy.

Wow, she sounds like a very bright little girl. I'd say definately gifted but maybe I'm biased!!

Wishing her a bright happy future :)

Thank you very much everyone :)

I think she sounds very gifted. The next stage that you could take it to is really listening to her and asking her open questions about more abstract issues. The skills you describe are great memory/technical ones. Will be lovely for you to enjoy the journey as she starts to question and ponder everything and develops her language skills.
