Poo Problems?

Sorry TMI serious Poo post coming up Blush
DD is almost 2 and has recently started telling me she needs a poo. However, nothing happens half the time and she sometimes gets quite distressed. I dont know what to do when she tells me and wondered if anyone has any suggestions! We have a potty lying around but she appears scared of it (wont sit on it at all) so dont think its time for that. She is now going every few days or so and when it does come its often large. Doesnt tend to look hard or compacted though but she is newly keen to have nappy changed asap. On Friday she woke up from lunchtime nap very upset saying poo poo and when she then went after 10 mins or so it was very loose. Obviously she had a tummy ache and was much brighter afterwards.

I just feel a bit helpless as to what to do.. anyone else had similar? I've tried gently rubbing her tum or mimicking her poo pose (brace position) Blush to encourage her to try but its not working!
