Nightime nappies

Hi all,

My 5 month old has started leaking through his nappies at night which is waking him. He can be soaked 3 hours after his last change before bed.

I am currently using Tesco's nappies (sure I've got the size right) and make sure he is facing the right way when changing (IYKWIM)!

What do you use? Which do you rate?

Thanks

This happened with my little boy tho I think he was a bit older than 5 months and I started using Nature Babycare nappies. You can get them in Boots and the bigger Tesco stores (Extra's). They are made from corn so biodegradeable and at the time (5 years ago!!) didn't cost any more than the disposables I had been using. My local Boots would order them in for me, if you have any trouble getting hold of them. Hope this helps

We use a size bigger at night. Currently the only ones I trust for me DS11months are Pampers Active Fit 4+

Size bigger, and try the Lidl nappies - they're the only ones we found that almost never leak.

mind you, at 5mo DS was still waking 4 times a night, so we just changed him when he woke for milk if his nappy was heavy.

Bambo nappies last overnight easily. Well worth the investment, if only for night time.

We suffered the same leakage problem. Am finding Pampers Baby Dry work at the moment. Read somewhere (depending on your ds size) that the + size (eg 4+ rather than 4) are more absorbent so were using them. Fingers crossed its doing the trick at the moment!!!

We had this problem and found Pampers Baby Dry worked best - we tried a few brands. I always went up a size and just sort of wrapped them around her a bit. It didn't always stop her leaking but it really cut it down.

I've had this problem for years (DS is 7 and still in nightime nappies Sad) and then DP suggested an innovation that changed our night time lives. Just put two nappies on - one disposable over another. Expensive, yes, but also effective. And you'll be surprised to discover that it's possible to fit two on with all brands.

HOpe that helps.

We use Bum Genius stuffable washable nappies and just put two pads in, instead of one, for over night - our DD sleeps 10-12 hours with no leaks.

You could try a waterproof pant or nappy wrap over the top if leg hole leakage is the main problem. If it's leaking 'cos it's soaked through, I agree that one disposable over another (similar to using two pads with washables) would work.
