Hi,
This might sound a bit odd but I was wondering what the 'score' is on this subject!!

DD is 26 months and as is as bright and advanced as any other child her age. However I have recently noticed that she doesn't really seem to 'responed' to smells.
By this I mean if we are out and about for example and there is a bad wiff in the air and I say to her 'wow something smells bad doesn't it?' she just looks at me like i'm speaking in french!!!
So i was just wondering if anyone else DC doesn't seem to respond to smells or is it maybe just a skill she hasn't yet developed (by that I mean being able to disginguise between a nice and horrible smell?)
I'm not really worried that she doesn't have a sense or smell or anything but I'm just wondering if its 'normal' or not that she never seem to react to smells!!

Thank for any feedback you can give me xx

IMO most young 2 year olds arnt bothered by bad smells.

the couldnt care less if they or a playmate needs a nappy change, or any other bad smell!

In my experience (DS 5 n DD 2) its quite later when they response, it i say to DD smell that, she sniffs it but doesnt respond, whereas my DS (not too long ago? maybe a yr or so) will say whats that smell! tho is rubbish at distinguishing what it could be, eg when i'm cooking he'll tell me his sis nappy needs changing!
