14 week old - teething causing feeding issues?

My 14 week old daughter has started to really cry when I feed her and rejects her bottles - I think it could be 'cos she has started teething. She doesn't cry the rest of the day, just stuffs her fists in her mouth. She'll act hungry and it'll be time for a feed, and she'll hungrily reach for the bottle but then start screaming as if in pain. I calm her down and try again, but she still cries. After many attempts she'll take the bottle and have maybe 2 or 3 ounces before stopping, and then it's impossible to make her have any more as again she cries and arches her back, spitting the bottle out.

The only way she'll have the full amount is when I gave her calpol before her night feed, but I can't do that for every feed and don't want to rely on it!

As she doesn't eat much in the day, she's started waking up more in the night. She used to sleep for 8 or 9 hours from 9 weeks (lucky I know) but now she's waking every 4 hours to catch up on feeds which is frustrating as it's like she's going backwards! She happily takes the bottle in the night without crying, the problem is just in the day.

Any advice would be appreciated as to how I can get her to drink more in the day? Teething gel doesn't seem to help her and she doesn't like her teething ring either!

Thanks

Mine is exactly the same but rejects breast feeding but will take a bottle, so can't really offer any advice, I have to trick her on my boob with a dummy so she thinks it is a bottle! Teething gel does work on my DD most of the time. I have got some homeopathic granules today but have yet to try them, maybe give those a go?

My DD is the same in that she will BF without complaint at night, but is waking up more often.

It is so strange that she is teething all day but only gets upset a feeding time, I thought I had it wrong until you posted your DD is the same Smile
