Nearly 5 mo crying whenever I leave the room

So after having dd1 who is a complete daddy's girl, I hoped dd2 might like me better Grin. Well she does, she is already becoming clingy! She starts crying whenever I leave the room. Will she grow out of it? Anything I can do to stop it getting worse?

The lesson, be careful what you wish for!

My DD did this for a couple of weeks around this age and was generally very whingey too. It coincided with teething and a few other things but is fine now. I did a few things like talking/singing when I wasn't in sight so that she knew I was still there, etc. If she cried I came back in and knelt down/tried to calm her without picking up.

Thanks, I will try and do that.

I agree about talking when she can't see you. I used to just tell DS what I was doing. "Just going downstairs to turn on the dryer. It's on! I'm coming back up now. Hello!" That kind of thing. I did this all the time and by time DS could crawl he would sometimes stay put while I left the room (narrating my actions still).
