shoes for prewalker

hi

i cant seem to find any nice prewalker shoes for ds (8.5mo) now that hes grown out of the supposedly 6-12m prewalkers i picked up from tesco. the ones that fit him have a hard sole which i read is not great for a baby, inhibits growth as it's too rigid. does it matter if i just leave him in socks when we got out? tbh i see the shoes more for keeping his feet warm than anything else, and maybe now we're past the worst of the cold socks are sufficient?

sorry if this is a silly question, and yes ds is pfb Grin

i wouldn't bother wasting money on any shoes until they are walking outside.

we spent tons of money on shoes for ds as we thought it was the done thing. he never wore them.

Don't! They're just another ploy for companies to con money out of naive PFB parents.

Socks are absolutely fine until, as bamboo says, they are walking outside.

If he's keen on pulling off socks then Inch Blue or DaisyRoots style soft shoes will help a bit as does sellotape.

I wouldn't bother either. Leather padders are useful, especially to reduce windchill on feet when DC is in pushchair and it's not quite spring (or just to stop socks getting impossibly filthy). But far from essential.

Yeah, don't bother. I only bothered with DD when she was 15 months and still not walking- thought I could get away with getting her feet measured then and did buy her some little boots from clarks, size 3.5- very cute. She wore them for about 4 months and then I passed them on to another non-walking 1 year old, more for warmth-both girls pulled socks off, but tights can be a handy answer!

don't bother socks are fine until they are walking about outside if your worried about the cold then soft slipper type bootie things are way better then shoes for little feet.
